JayFlex Ryze Ups Compact Pull-Up Bar is completely made out of plastic. That makes them lightweight, portable & excellent for travel. No assembly is required, they’re out of the box and ready to use. No screws, easy to install within seconds. Conveniently storable, withstand loads up to 275 lbs / 125 kg.
A major strong point with Ryze Ups is that it has extra wide clamps compared to other similar devices like the Duonamic Eleviia pull-up bar or JayFlex CrossGrips. It easily fits almost any doorway frame. Fits doorways from 2″ to 6″ tall & 4.25″ to 8.5″ thick.
Ryze Ups pull-up bar handles can be rotated into multiple different positions as well. You can benefit from different gripping angles. It’s nice for making exercises more comfortable & personally convenient for you, along with targeting different gripping positions.
Ryze Ups lock in place. They’re secure & stable, there’s no wobble or moving around at all. They are well built & these clamps are specifically designed in a way they won’t damage your doorway frame.
Good equipment for anyone living in a small studio apartment or traveling a lot. They are lightweight, easily portable & save a bunch of space for you. Targets the upper body, back & biceps along with open hand strength. You can also do leg raises along different pull-up setups using multiple gripping positions.
What are the Pros & Cons with JayFlex Ryze Ups Pull-Up Bar?
Lightweight & Portable
Pros:
- Fits Extra Wide Doorway Frames – Where other similar devices fail to deliver, Ryze Ups likely succeed. It’s designed to fit even the widest of doorframes. Fits Doors 2″ to 6″ tall & 4.25″ to 8.5″ thick
- Handles Rotate – Ideal for multiple hand positions, helps to avoid pain especially if you lack mobility & flexibility in your shoulders. Adjust handles to a more comfortable position to enable yourself to exercise correctly
- Excellent Travel Companion – Lightweight, portable, requires no assembly. Take it with you and exercise everywhere you stop by. Ryze Ups are compact & fairly small, fitting nicely in your luggage bag
- Out of Box Ready for Use – Requires no assembly, there are no screws. Once you take it out of the box, it is ready to use. Attach it to the doorframe & start exercising
- Secure & Stable Handles – No swinging around like with the Duonamic Eleviia device. It’s firmly secured to the doorframe & its handles don’t move around
- Great for Home Gym – Ideal for at-home gym, it’s easy to set up fast on doorframes & also to get it out of the way once you’ve done it. Saves a bunch of space, is easy to use
- Won’t Damage Doorway – Designed specifically not to damage your doorway frames. Remember, this is the number 1 issue for most cheap pull-up bars. Without additional padding, most of them inevitably will damage doorways
- Great for Support Grip Strength – Pull-up bars are ideal for practicing the simplest form of grip training. Just hang from one & develop formidable finger & open hand strength in the process
Cons:
- Expensive – They’re pricy. Well made but there are way cheaper options available that get you the exact same results
- Made Entirely From Plastic – That is a big red flag for many users. It’s sturdy but it’s plastic. If it has to be made of metal, JayFlex CrossGrips are way better option
- Not For Large Hands – If your hands are particularly large, they may not fit properly. It may be uncomfortable to grip handles & it may interrupt your exercise
- Creaking Plastic – If you’re a heavy dude weighing over 220 lbs / 100 kg creaking plastic noises can make you feel like this thing is falling apart

How to Make Pull-Ups More Challenging?
Combine Pull Up Bar with Finger Loops
I highly recommend combining your pull-up bar with climbing equipment. Fingerboard, hanging ab straps, or finger loops such as these to get the maximum out of your pull-up training.
Pull-ups are already difficult and there are ways to make them even more challenging while also focusing on building more grip strength. Using finger loops is an excellent way to focus on building a more static support grip.
It builds overall hand endurance. Essential for climbers & arm wrestlers. Tangle from one, two, or three digits & also develop an eagle claw grip by using a thumb loop. Vital to martial artists who seek to strengthen their grappling capabilities in their fighting style.
It’s solid equipment to further strengthen your finger tendons as well as build overall forearm strength.
What is My Final Evaluation of JayFlex Ryze Ups Pull-Up Bar?
Great for Travel & at Home Gym
The flexibility of this product is amazing. Ryze Ups are compact & user-friendly. It’s a well-put-together system, that basically fits on any door frame easily. The ability to adjust the size to match any door frame is really nice.
This is one of the better home pull-up bar solutions. It’s pleasing to see how easy they are to install. Depending on your timing when you start a workout it might be necessary for you to move from door to door. They’re so easy to move around, it takes half a minute to put them on & even less to take off.
The quality of plastic is not the strongest suit of this pull-up bar. If you’re a heavier lad plastic will make a creaking noise & might not be too safe for you to use. It’s also expensive. Bigger devices are way cheaper if you need to be on a budget.
However, if you need to move often & want to stay fit, this is a better device for the job.
Most of the pull-up devices that are compact, and useful for traveling are expensive.
Unfortunately, that’s the selling point & manufacturers are tapping into it hard.
It’s meant to be light, and easily portable. It requires no assembly and is super easy to use at a moment’s notice.
Pack them up just as quickly. Portability & lightweight is the best part of this device.
For climbing style training & improving your hand grip strength, these devices will serve you well. I recommend combining your doorway pull-up bars with other specialty devices such as rock climbing rings to get the most out of them.
Also, hanging ab straps can be used as shown on the image. Awesome way to get many exercises done with one go if you like.
JayFlex Ryze Ups are designed to do no damage to doorway frames. Remember that most cheaper doorway pull-up bars inevitably will unless you add a lot of extra padding.
