Not Sure How to Train Your Forearms?
Here’s My Wrist Training Guide.

Overview:

The POWER GUIDANCE Steel Mace is elite fitness equipment designed for sledgehammer-style workouts that seriously boost your forearm and grip strength.

Training with a macebell targets your wrist flexors and extensors, muscles that are often neglected, while also improving agility, coordination, shoulder mobility, and explosive power.

It’s a functional, fun, and brutally effective tool to improve your grip and build total upper-body endurance. This solid steel macebell has no screws or detachable parts. Its welded head guarantees durability and safety, ensuring nothing flies off mid-swing: a vital feature when training dynamically.

The knurled handle offers a secure, non-slip grip that enhances control without cutting into your hands. Its powder-coated finish prevents rusting, maintains a sleek look, and ensures long-term reliability. Constructed from heavy-duty alloy steel, it’s practically indestructible under normal training conditions, unless your workout goal is to break it on purpose.

Available in five weight variations: 2.5 kg, 5 kg, 7.5 kg, 10 kg, and 12.5 kg (7 lb–25 lb), the heavier models feature slightly longer handles to maintain balance and optimal swing mechanics. This design adjustment makes every size feel purpose-built for progression.

Using a steel mace is a powerful way to enhance core strength, rotational stability, and joint health. It can serve as a rehab tool for the shoulders, a complement to barbell lifts, or a dynamic method to boost cardiovascular fitness, coordination, and total-body resilience.

What are the Pros & Cons of POWER GUIDANCE Steel Mace?

Knurled & Properly Welded

Pros:

  • Excellent Way to Build Wrist Strength: Using a steel mace is an excellent way to engage in a sledgehammer workout that brings up your grip & forearms strength with more emphasis on wrist extensors & flexors strength.
  • Build Strong Core & Rotational Strength:  You’ve likely seen a sledgehammer workout & how brutally effective it can be to train your entire body from head to toe. Enhance your dexterity, grip & wrist strength, speed, endurance, core strength, shoulder mobility & explosiveness.
  • Easy to Increase Resistance: Simply slide your hand closer to the end of the handle. With hand placement, that’s how you can easily increase or decrease resistance while working with a steel mace
  • Comes in 5 Different Sizes: 2.5KG, 5KG, 7.5KG, 10KG, 12.5KG / 7Lb, 10Lb, 15Lb, 20Lb, 25Lb
  • Properly Welded: No screws here, for added safety & convenience of use, the head of the mace-bell is properly welded, so it won’t get loose & fall off in the middle of your workout.
  • Knurled Handles: Defined but not so sharp as to tear your hands. Serves as more added safety through improved non-slip grip, making the handling of the steel mace feel better & more efficient.
  • Powder-Coated Finish: To add a polished, stylish look that inspires the use of this device & protects it from rusting at the same time

Cons:

  • Some Complaints About Packaging: The Device itself is high quality, packaging sometimes is not. Few complaints here & there.
  • Few Cases of Inconsistency: Happens rarely, but there’s a chance your ordered item can get damaged during transportation/ is faulty to begin with. If the mace you ordered arrives with a crooked shaft, has dents on it, or is damaged in some other way, please contact with manufacturer & ask for a replacement.
  • Shipping is Costly: It’s heavy equipment, no surprise here, shipping is likely costly. So, it’s advised to think twice if you really want this equipment & are ready to invest in it. Same thing with returning this product if you don’t like it; shipping gets costly.

How Can You Benefit From POWER GUIDANCE Steel Mace?

Build Strong Wrists

  • Mentally Stimulating: Using a steel mace requires serious coordination from your end. This takes time to learn how to pull it off correctly. If you want to get huge, you lift heavy stuff. But if you want to build a practice where you evolve not only physically but mentally, incorporate sledgehammer training.
  • Give Your Wrists Run for Their Money: A lot of rotation movements in macebell training ensure your forearms will get a ton of action. Swinging a mace will improve your grip as well as focus on strengthening your wrist extensor & flexor muscles, building more stable hands with functional strength.
  • Build Core Strength: Steel mace is not a joke; it’s not for weak individuals. It’s all about the uneven weight that you’re using. Most of the weight is in the head of the mace. As you use momentum throughout the exercises, you engage heavily with your core muscles, helping you to build them stronger. You can make it gruelingly difficult depending on how much tension you add.
  • Improve Dexterity, Speed & Explosive Power: Using a steel mace involves many exercises where you use rapid movements. Hitting a tire with a sledgehammer is one of those famous exercises where you can really put your endurance to the test. It develops your explosiveness as well as your ability to do it fast & consistently.

Add Wrist Roller Into Mix

What if Steel Mace is too Difficult for You?

Start With a Wrist Roller

Way more easily portable & accessible, but no less merciful option is to use a wrist roller. Just as a steel mace, a wrist roller can be brutally effective to burn up your forearms in no time.

However, a wrist roller with a lower difficulty level can also be a good entry point to build up enough strength in the wrists before moving to more demanding tasks like swinging a heavy steel mace against a tire.

Throw a wrist roller into the mix to alternate between the two or use it as an alternative if you don’t have access to a steel mace yet. Both are excellent for building up strong wrists. Wrist rollers are fun to use, looking innocent enough, but in action are deceptive & get difficult fast. They’re especially good to target your wrist extensor & flexor muscles to bulk up your forearms.

Wrist rollers help build more stable wrists. Putting extra muscle on forearms saves you from multiple potential injuries & helps to improve your overall grip strength.

What is My Final Evaluation of POWER GUIDANCE Steel Mace?

Challenges You From Head to Toe

If you want something that truly challenges your body and mind, the POWER GUIDANCE Steel Mace delivers. This tool demands coordination, focus, and control, combining dynamic movement, explosive power, and mental sharpness into one brutally fun workout.

Once you start swinging, you’ll quickly realize this is not your average training implement. It’s intense, functional, and highly rewarding. There’s an ongoing debate in the fitness community about which weight to start with.

Some argue that lighter macebells are better for beginners, allowing you to master control, coordination, and movement patterns safely. Others believe that you’ll quickly outgrow the light ones and should start heavier right away to build raw strength and endurance. Here’s the truth: both sides are right, depending on your goal:

  • If your focus is mobility drills, speed, dexterity, or shoulder rehab, start light and refine your technique.
  • If your goal is explosive power, a stronger core, and beastly forearms, go heavier and push yourself beyond comfort.

The steel mace is a progressive training tool; it grows with you. It’s not just for grip strength or forearms; it trains the entire kinetic chain, from your wrists to your core. Once you master the rhythm, you’ll discover a workout that feels as primal as it is effective.

Whether you’re swinging it for strength, mobility, or mental focus, the POWER GUIDANCE Steel Mace earns its place in any serious grip or functional fitness toolkit.

2 thoughts on “Use Steel Mace to Strengthen Your Wrists in a Dynamic Way

  1. I have been very impressed with this review on the Power Guidance steel mace and the variety of uses that it has. It seems that the steel mace can be used for much more than just strengthening your wrists, but also for  joint health, cardiovascular fitness, balance & multi-plane training.

Would these Power Guidance steel mace be suitable for use by someone who suffers from carper tunnel syndrome? Or might it actually aggravate the condition? Thank you for sharing your expertise.

    1. Yes and no. You need to understand the root cause of Carpal Tunnel.

If it’s caused by muscle imbalances, working on your forearms can do wonders to get rid of symptoms of CTS entirely & even heal it.

However, if CTS is caused by structural anomalies that are squeezing the nerves in wrist & are unique to certain individual only, then likely no.

That last one needs a careful medical evaluation by professional to understand if exercise would be the correct approach.
